Pro Seniors’ attorney Miriam Sheline will become managing attorney on January 3, 2017.  She will be responsible for Pro Seniors’ legal program, which includes the Legal Hotline and staff attorneys.

The Legal Hotline is the cornerstone of Pro Seniors’ comprehensive legal service, serving over 6,000 older Ohioans each year.  Seniors contact the Legal Hotline for help with a wide variety of legal problems and speak with an attorney for free.

For matters that cannot be resolved by the Legal Hotline, Pro Seniors’ in-house Staff Attorneys provide extended legal representation to seniors.  Both the Hotline attorneys and staff attorneys have expertise in complex areas of the law that impact low income seniors, including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, veterans benefits and other public benefits, elder abuse, financial exploitation, consumer debt and foreclosure.

Miriam began at Pro Seniors in 1997 as a hotline attorney, while she and her father were law partners at the firm of Hirsch & Sheline.  In 2003, Miriam began working full-time for Pro Seniors as a staff attorney, eventually becoming the Litigation Director.

Executive Director Rhonda Moore says, “I know Miriam will continue her long track record of going above and beyond for seniors in her new role.”

Miriam is replacing long-time managing attorney Tom Bedall, who is shifting to part-time to focus on IT and data analysis.

Congratulations, Miriam!
