Reflecting on 50 Years
In 1975 a group of concerned members of the community, including Council on Aging of Southwest Ohio, identified a need for older members of the community to have access to legal help. This became the nonprofit agency known then as Protective Resources Organization for Seniors, abbreviated as PRO Seniors. Originally housed in a small space within what was then the Community Chest building – now United Way of Greater Cincinnati, at 2400 Reading Road. Pro Seniors moved to several different downtown spaces before our current location at 7162 Reading Road, Suite 1150.

Events in 1975 include
- the end of the Vietnam War,
- the Watergate scandal,
- the start of the Trans-Alaska pipeline,
- the founding of Microsoft, and
- the invention of the first digital camera.
What other events come to mind when you think of the 1970’s?
Below are a few snapshots from the 1970’s. We’ll continue to update this page as we reflect on 50 years of advocacy for older Ohioans as Pro Seniors.
