How Can Resident Council Improve Care & Services?

Resident Councils can be an effective way to address issues in nursing homes that are important to multiple residents. State and federal laws require every nursing home to have a Resident Council.

The information in the Resident Council Toolkit developed by Ohio’s Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman can help you support the resident council in your loved one’s home.

In Southwest Ohio residents and their loved ones can also contact the long-term care ombudsman office at Pro Seniors for direct assistance at 513-458-5518.
