Impact and Inspiration: What I’m Learning as a Nonprofit Intern (4/2/2025)

Hi everyone! Thank you for joining me again this week.

We are now in April, which is National Volunteer Month! Pro Seniors is one of the many non-profit organizations that utilizes volunteer work to spread their mission. Last year alone, volunteers for Pro Seniors dedicated over 2,000 hours to serve older Ohioans!

Did you know that around half of all adults 65 and older volunteer in some form? People aged 65 and up take up the largest share of volunteer hours as shown in the chart to the left, provided by NationSwell. This age group is also the only one that has seen an increase in volunteerism over time- and the number continues to grow!

According to the American Heart Association, those who volunteer report less depression and anxiety, a higher life satisfaction rate, and a greater sense of meaning in life. You are never too old or too young to volunteer! To volunteer with Pro Seniors and increase the quality of life for older adults in Ohio, you can follow this link and learn more: Volunteering – ProSeniors

See you all next week!
