Projects
Pro Seniors is committed to educating older adults and their caregivers about the wide variety of legal and long-term care issues that impact their lives. As such, Pro Seniors provides community education to groups throughout southwestern Ohio. Collaboration with organizations like Sharonville Community Center, the Hamilton County Public Library, and area churches and synagogues allows Pro Seniors to educate family caregivers about the issues affecting their loved ones and to provide them with the tools for successful planning. Seniors who participate in support groups, senior centers, church sponsored senior groups and retired public employees have invited Pro Seniors to present on various topics such as living wills, health care powers of attorney and Medicare. Pro Seniors offers "Community Legal Education Network" (CLEN) seminars six times a year to educate professional caregivers. The topics relate specifically to legal issues of concern to the older adult or their professional caregivers. Professionals can earn continuing education units at CLEN seminars. At area health fairs, Pro Seniors' representatives distribute information about our free services, including the 52 pamphlets that respond to the frequently asked questions on topics that concern seniors, such as Medicare, Medicaid, living wills, Social Security and pensions. Pro Seniors staff attend the Council on Aging Senior Expo, Biggs Senior Expo, the Black Family Reunion, Clermont County Senior Fair and health fairs organized by senior centers, nursing homes and churches. Statewide, Pro Seniors has distributed information at the Governor's Conference and to senators and representatives for distribution to their constituents. |
